On 21 February 2025, H.E. Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, welcomed H.E. Mr. Ali Asghar Mohammadi, Assistant Minister and Director-General of Asia-Pacific Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, accompanied by H.E. Mr. Nassereddin Heidari, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Kingdom of Thailand, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Both sides exchanged views on ASEAN-Iran relations and human rights, especially within the context of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). The Thai side also expressed appreciation for the Iranian side’s role and support regarding the recent release of 5 Thai hostages.
