On 25 February 2025, Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, met with Her Excellency Ms. Ping Kitnikone, Ambassador of Canada to Thailand.

The Deputy Permanent Secretary and the Ambassador discussed enhancing Thailand-Canada relations, which have seen increasing dynamic,and promoting closer partnership in various areas, particularly the preparation for the 3^rd Thailand-Canada Bilateral Consultations, which Thailand will host this year, and the upcoming visit  of  Team Canada Trade Mission to Thailand. Both sides also discussed promoting cooperation in areas of shared priorities, including trade and investment, sustainable development, human rights, gender equality, and cybersecurity.  On this occasion, both sides exchanged views on key regional and global developments as well as fostering cooperation at the regional level, particularly in the ASEAN framework.
