On 15 December 2023, the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) hosted a study visit for the participants of the 49th International Forum on Diplomatic Training (IFDT) after the program had reached its conclusion, inviting the attendees to the neighbouring Phra Nakorn Sri Ayutthya Province, the Chaosampraya National Museum, Wat Phra Si Sanphet, and the Arts of the Kingdom Museum to foster knowledge about Thai history and culture.

The study tour started off with a visit to the Chaosampraya National Museum to view the ancient goldware exhibition during the Ayutthaya Period (1350 – 1767) followed by Wat Phra Si Sanphet, the former Royal Temple of Ayutthaya located within the Auytthaya Historical Park, and the Arts of the Kingdom Museum where participants witnessed the arts and crafts exhibition under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother.

The study tour helped deepen Thailand’s network with her friends and impressed them with the Kingdom’s rich history and culture. At the same time, IFDT participants had their opportunities to widen their knowledge and perception about Thailand, especially through the admiration of Thai handicrafts’ meticulosity and charm.
