On 12 December 2022, H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, attended the 42nd Meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Oslo (ACO), chaired by H.E. Mr. Enrico Trinidad Fos, Ambassador of the Philippines to Norway. Participants comprised of Ambassadors and representatives of ASEAN Embassies in Oslo, namely, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Vietnam.

 

The meeting discussed and exchanged views on the cooperation between ACO members and ACO activities since March 2022 under the ACO Chairmanship of the Philippines. ACO members commended H.E. Mr. Enrico Trinidad Fos, Ambassador of the Philippines to Norway, for his active leadership as the ACO Chair and for coordinating many activities. ACO also discussed about the plan for activities in 2023 such as the visit to Telemark and Vestfold in April 2023, upon the invitation of Ms. Åslaug Sem-Jacobsen (Centre Party), Member of Parliament from Telemark and Chair of Delegation to the Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership (ASEP) and the ASEAN’s Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) and Mr. Truls Vasvik (Labour Party), Member of Parliament from Vestfold and member of ASEP. They also agreed to follow up with the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) on cooperation in the field of renewable energy with related Norwegian authorities or organizations. On this occasion, the Philippines agreed to continue the ACO Chair for another 6 months.

 

The Royal Thai Embassy in Oslo will continue to support the Philippine Embassy, as the ACO Chair, and all ASEAN Embassies in Norway to further enhance the excellent cooperation between ASEAN and all sectors concerned in Norway.
