The Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid Held Activities to Strengthen Thai Communities in Spain

On 29 September 2023, Mr. Vosita Vorasaph, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain, chaired the meeting of the Thai community leaders in Spain to strengthen the network of Thais residing Spain, at NH Hotel Eixample in Barcelona. This year’s meeting, held by the Royal Thai Embassy for the second year in a row, was attended by 12 Thai community leaders from Spain’s cities including Madrid, Barcelona, Tenerife, Malaga, Valencia. and Ibiza. The meeting discussed past and future activities of Thai communities, placing importance to collaboration between the respective communities and the Royal Thai Embassy. The participants were also briefed about e-Visa and e-Help services developed by the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, to facilitate both Thais and foreigners, as well as having a Q&A session about various consular issues.

On 30 September 2023, the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid brought the Thai community leaders in Spain to observe “The 7th International Thai Women in Europe Conference” at the Gallery Hotel, Barcelona. Ambassador Vosita Vorasaph and Ms. Yasmin Paricio, Coordinator of the Department of Politics, Society and Education, Casa Asia, were invited to the opening session. During the event, the participants had the opportunity to listen to lectures by experts on issues such as branding, personal finance and investment, laws on family and inheritance, as well as good thoughts for life. Hosted by Thai Friends Samakkhi Association in Barcelona, the event was attended by more than 90 Thais from 12 countries in Europe and was partly supported by the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid.

On the same occasion, a “Volunteer Consul” award was given to Ms. Duangruethai Reokarn, President of Thai Friends Samakkhi Association, for her dedication to supporting consular missions of the Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid.
