On 27 July 2023, Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Director-General of American and South Pacific Affairs, congratulated Peru and her people on the 202nd Anniversary of Peru's Independence, on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

In his remarks, the Director-General underscored positive developments in Thailand - Peru relations, especially the frequent exchange of high-level visits between the two countries and Peru's support for Thailand's Hosting of APEC in 2022. He also reiterated Thailand's commitment to further strengthen the ties with Peru, which will celebrate the 60th Anniversary in 2025.
