On 16 May 2023, H.E. Mr. Ankhbayar Nyamdorj, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, during his visit to Thailand to attend the 79th session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

Both sides reaffirmed shared commitments to further strengthen Thai - Mongolian ties, especially in trade, investment, tourism and culture, agriculture and technical cooperation, as well as in multilateral frameworks. They also discussed the preparation of the Second Meeting of the Consultative Body on Bilateral Cooperation between Mongolia and Thailand, to be hosted by Thailand on 2 June 2023, and co-chaired by the Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Minister of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia.

Furthermore, both sides exchanged views on the importance of commemorating the 50th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Mongolia in 2024 through exchanges of high - level visits, and organisation of cultural events to promote and deepen the close and cordial ties that have long been in existence between the two countries, at the people to people level.
