On 31 October 2024, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, gave opening remarks at the 8th High-Level Brainstorming Dialogue on Enhancing Complementarities between the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (HLBD). The event was co-organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the ASEAN Secretariat.

This Dialogue served as a platform for ASEAN Member States, Timor-Leste, and ASEAN External Partners to exchange views in driving cooperation to implement the 2025 ASEAN Community Vision and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and to promote the sustainable development agenda within the context of the upcoming ASEAN Community Vision 2025. Key issues addressed included green finance, resilience against climate change, effective digital transformation, energy transition and networking and partnerships.
