On 1 November 2024, H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, discussed with H.E. Mr. Gustavo Alberto Martino, the Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Thailand, to bid farewell upon the Ambassador’s completion of his tenure.

On this occasion, the Vice Minister expressed appreciation to the Ambassador for his active role in promoting bilateral relations and cooperation between Thailand and Argentina. Both sides also discussed ways to further strengthen relations, including the exchanges of high-level visits, the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Argentina in 2025, as well as the promotion of cooperation in trade, investment, technical cooperation, and development programme between the two countries.

After the discussion, the Vice Minister also hosted a farewell lunch in honour of the Ambassador, which was attended by the Ambassadors of the Group of Latin American and Caribbean Countries (GRULAC) and representatives from relevant Thai government agencies and the academic sector.
