Minister of Foreign Affairs accompanied Prime Minister to discuss with ADB President during 8th GMS Summit in Kunming

On 6 November 2024, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, accompanied H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, to attend the discussion between the Prime Minister and Mr. Masatsugu Asakawa, President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), on the sidelines of the 8th Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Economic Cooperation Program Summit in Kunming, China.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister expressed her gratitude to the ADB, as the Secretariat of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Economic Cooperation Program, for facilitating this Summit as well as the continued assistance and support extended to the development of Thailand particularly in the areas of public health during the COVID-19 outbreak and economic recovery in the aftermath of the outbreak. The ADB President was glad to meet the Prime Minister for the first time and stressed the importance of the ADB to Thailand, affirming the readiness to continue to support Thailand.

In addition, both sides also discussed on cooperation in the construction of motorways in Thailand, financial institutions and SMEs, green funds, water resource management, and technical assistance.
