On 27 February 2025, Mrs. Khrongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, co-chaired the 1st Thailand-Austria Political Consultations with Mrs. Bita Rasoulian, Director of Asia and the Pacific, Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The two sides discussed ways to promote cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral aspects, including politics, trade and investment, negotiations of the Thailand-EU Free Trade Agreement, vocational education, innovation, sustainable agriculture, cultural diplomacy, and soft power. They also exchanged views on international politics and important developments in the ASEAN, Indo-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East regions. On multilateral matters, both sides discussed nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, support for one another's candidatures in international organizations, and Thailand's accession to the OECD.

The 1st Thailand-Austria Political Consultations is an important mechanism for comprehensive discussions on various issues, as well as lays the foundation for strengthening relations and enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
