On 6 March 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Foundation of Islamic Center of Thailand co-hosted an Iftar Dinner for the diplomatic corps from Muslim countries in Thailand. The event was attended by Sheikhul Islam of Thailand, President of National Assembly and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Deputy Minister of Interior, members of the Muslim diplomatic corps from 20 countries, as well as 350 prominent figures and distinguished guests of the Thai Muslim community.
H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, reiterated in his welcome remarks that the Ministry attaches importance to strengthening the relations between Thailand and Muslim countries and to supporting Islamic affairs and the Thai Muslim community.
Iftar Dinner is an evening meal when Muslims break their fasts during the Holy month of Ramadan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Foundation of Islamic Centre of Thailand has hosted the Iftar Dinner annually since 2009 to promote good relations between the Muslim diplomatic corps and Muslim community in Thailand.
