Both classes were attended by 60 participants each who are members of the diplomatic corps, Kuwait media and TV hosts, Thai restaurant owners and Thai community in Kuwait. The participants learnt the story of fruit and vegetables carving in Thailand, equipment, basic carving techniques, cooking of some Thai dishes (Som Tum, Tom Yum Kung and Thai Green Curry) and selection of ingredients as well as nutrition of Thai food.
This activity was part of the Embassy’s “Thai Kitchen to the World” project which aimed to promote the authenticity of Thai food. The participants gained knowledge of Thai cooking and how to prepare the ingredients. Moreover, the activity helped the participants to appreciate the Thai culture, the uniqueness of Thai cuisine and food decoration. The activity was covered by local media, namely, Kuwait Times newspaper and Kuwait TV. It is hoped that Thai food will become trendier among the local food enthusiasts.
