During 28 – 30 March 2019, H.E. Mr. Chen Hao, Secretary of Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Yunnan Provincial People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, is scheduled to pay an official visit to Thailand.

 

During the visit, H.E. Mr. Chen Hao will meet with H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, on 28 March 2019. The meeting aims to strengthen ties and further promote tangible cooperation between Thailand and Yunnan, especially on economy, trade, investment, and connectivity. Thailand will seek to invite Yunnan’s potential enterprises to invest in the target industries of Thailand in support of Thailand 4.0 in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). Both sides will also exchange views on various issues of common interest such as cooperation under the Greater Mekong sub-region (GMS) and Mekong – Lancang Cooperation (MLC) and ways to strengthen cooperation between Thailand – Yunnan and the sub-region.

 

This will be the first official visit to Thailand of H.E. Mr. Chen Hao as the Secretary of Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party after assuming the position in 2016.
