General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, is scheduled to pay a visit to the United States from 2 – 4 October 2017 at the invitation of the Honorable Donald J. Trump, President of the United States. The Thai Prime Minister will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister in charge of economic matters, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ministers and senior officials from relevant government agencies, as well as representatives from the private sector.
 
The Prime Minister will meet with President Trump at the White House on 3 October 2017. The two leaders will discuss bilateral issues across a wide spectrum of areas and exchange views on regional issues. The Prime Minister will also attend a gala dinner hosted in his honor by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. – ASEAN Business Council.
 
The Prime Minister’s visit to the United States will help re-energize and further strengthen high – level ties between Thailand and the United States, advance mutual cooperation on several fronts, and reaffirm Thailand as the United States’ oldest ally in Asia, as next year will mark the 200th anniversary of the first Thai – American contacts.
