On 20 September 2017, at the sideline of the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA72) in New York, H.E. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Mikheil Janelidze, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. 

         Minister of Foreign Affairs and Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia had signed the Protocol on Cooperation between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs, which is believed to work as a mechanism in strengthening bilateral relations at all levels as well as in establishing Political Consultation between Thailand and Georgia.

        Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia congratulated on the success of the Protocol on Cooperation signing which will lead to the increase of mutual trade, investment and development in various aspects. He also reiterated the recent development in Georgia in terms of economic growth as a result of close cooperation with the EU as well as transparent and inclusive government in support of SDGs Goal 16 on the Promotion of just, peaceful and inclusive societies. In addition, Georgia is an emerging market with 100 per cent FDI and has the lowest corruption rate in Eastern Europe and the Central Asian. The Vice Prime Minister expressed its willingness to encourage people exchange, particularly in tourism and education. 

          Foreign Minister Don stated that the Protocol on Cooperation will lead to more actions and cooperation in various dimensions between Thailand and Georgia. The Foreign Minister also shared with his counterpart the "SEP for SDGs Partnership" initiative, which encouraged partnership among countries to apply His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej's Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) to achieve all 17 targets of SDGs.  In addition, Thailand has regularly participated in Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe framework or OSCE as the Asian Partner for Co-operation and looked forward to increasing cooperation with Georgia under the OSCE framework.
