Thailand to provide International Training Courses on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP)

          Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, in cooperation with Mahidol University, Prince of Songkhla University, Community Development Department of Ministry of Interior and Mekong Institute, will organize international training courses for developing partners namely Asia, Africa, Latin America, Middle East, America, South Pacific, and Europe to share Thailand’s expertise and experience as well as the theme “Sufficiency Economy Philosophy – SEP” with an aim to promote and attain sustainable development goals (SDGs) through constructive collaboration between Thailand and developing partners. Four international training courses in August 2017 are offered as follows:
          (1) “The Principle Concept and Practice of One Health for Emerging Disease Management” during 1 – 28 August 2017 in cooperation with Mahidol University, Thailand. Attending are 19 participants from 18 countries. This course aims at raising awareness on the application of “One Health” approach for emerging disease management;
          (2) “Global Warming Mitigation and Adaptation by Balancing Sustainable Energy Management” during 16 August – 1 September 2017 in cooperation with Prince of Songkhla University. Attending are 18 participants from 18 countries. This course aims at sharing Thailand’s experience on sustainable energy management in mitigating and adapting to climate change;
          (3) “Microcredit and Sufficiency Economy Development” during 16 August – 1 September 2017 in cooperation with Community Development Department of Ministry of Interior. Attending are 18 participants from 18 countries.  This course aims at bringing together international participants to learn first-handed experience on how the universal values of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy or SEP, such as moderation, reasonableness, prudence and conservation, are crucial to community-based and economic development; and
          (4) “Green Freight and Logistics Development” during 21 August – 2 September 2017 in cooperation with Mekong Institute. Attending are 19 participants. This course aims at promoting environmental-friendly freight and logistics management.
          During January – July 2017, TICA has been providing training courses under the programme “Annual International Training Course (AITC)” to 325 participants from 82 countries. AITC is a vital tool in strengthening cooperation between Thailand and strategic countries as well as increasing Thailand’s role 
in the international platform.
