Following H.E. Mr. Taro Kono’s appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, H.E. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, sent a congratulatory message to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan as follows:

          It gives me the honour and pleasure to extend to Your Excellency my sincere congratulations and warmest wishes on Your Excellency’s appointment as Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan. 

          I look forward to working closely with Your Excellency to further strengthen our cooperation and partnership at all levels, especially as this year marks the 130th Anniversary of our diplomatic relations. I am confident that, with Your Excellency’s experience as Secretary-General of the Japan-Thailand Parliamentary Friendship Association, we can realise much of the potential and possibilities for deepening our cooperation in all areas for the mutual benefits of our two countries and peoples.
