6th Thai Youth Initiative against Drugs 2017 Project Contest

Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized the final round of the 6th Thai Youth Initiative against Drugs 2017 Project Contest on 2 June 2017 between 9.30 – 12.00 hrs. The final round was presided by Ms. Morakot Srisawasdi, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, to select the best video clip and English presentation from five youth teams that had passed the first round. 
 
This year’s winner, with an award of 15,000 Baht, is the reDUCKS Productions Team from Sirirattanathorn School and Pekara A Team from Thammawittaya Foundation School receiving the prize for first runner-up (10,000 Baht). Both teams will be joining the upcoming study trip on narcotic drugs prevention in China. RAJA Channel Team from Rajatiwas School received an award as second runner-up and two complimentary awards were handed to 3D Clever Team from Singburi School and Inburi School and the Action Team from Phu Sang Yai Wittayakhom School.
 
The Thai Youth Initiative against Drugs Project was initiated by the Department of International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Office of the Narcotics Control Board, Ministry of Education, Asia-Pacific NGO on Drug and Substance Abuse Prevention, and True Visions Public Company Limited. The objective of the project is to encourage young people to create short, 3-minute video clips to raise awareness on the dangers of narcotic drugs among young people. The first contest was organized in 2012 and the 6th contest is being held this year. The top 5 best 3-minute video clips were selected in the first round of the contest.The selection criteria included creativity, accuracy of language, the storyline’s consistency with the competition’s theme, the style and technique of the presentation, and the quality of the video clip. The top 5 teams were required to give an English presentation on their video clips to the Selection Committee during the final round.
