Following H.E. Mr. Lee Nak-yeon’s appointment as the Prime Minister of Republic of Korea on 31 May 2017, H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, sent congratulatory message to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea as follows:

Excellency,

               I have the honour to extend to Your Excellency, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Kingdom of Thailand, my warmest congratulations on being appointed as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea.

               Last year, I had an opportunity to welcome the delegation of the Republic Korea during the 2nd Asia Cooperation Dialogue Summit in Bangkok, to discuss our bilateral political and economic issues. We shared concern over the regional and international matters. I am confident that under your leadership, we will be able to continue this initiative and further advance these ties for mutual benefits of our countries.

               Next year will mark the 60^th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations, I very much look forward to working with Your Excellency to commemorate such occasion, thus taking our relationship on a higher plane.
