On 25 August 2016, Mr. Ekapol Poolpipat, Consul-General of Thailand in Mumbai visited Indus International School in Pune and met with Principal and about 20 Thai students currently attending the school to discuss about their education and living condition in general.
In this opportunity, The Royal Thai Consulate-General also arranged a Thai Cooking Demonstration by Thai chef from the Residence for school’s chefs and cooking staffs. The menu included Thai Hot and Sour Soup (Tom Yum Soup), Stir-fry Chicken with Garlic, Stir-fry Chicken with Basil leaves, Stir-fry Mix Vegetables, Thai Style Omelette, Thai Papaya Salad (Som Tum), and Banana in Coconut Milk. These dishes were chosen as they are simple to cook and all ingredients can be purchased locally. Along with Indian chefs, Principal also attended the cooking demonstration and expressed his appreciation of the tastes of Thai food and agreed to consider adding them to school’s menu.
