On 18 August 2016, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the 5^th MFA CEO Forum to highlight Thailand’s competitiveness in the construction and hospitality sectors, which are the key sectors to the country’s economic development. The Forum was met with enthusiastic participation of Ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps from over 30 countries.

          Mr. Yuthachai Charanachitta, CEO of Italthai Group, the guest speaker, introduced a portfolio of enterprises under the conglomerate, ranging from construction and construction equipment businesses to hospitality and lifestyle businesses. He also shared his visionary business strategies on how to integrate business operations into the global economy while enhancing Thailand’s competitive edge. Steering Italthai towards the next milestones, Mr. Charanachitta emphasized the importance of taking into account good governance and sustainable development in driving the businesses.

          Since February 2016, the MFA CEO Forum has continuously brought Thailand’s top CEOs to engage with Ambassadors and the diplomatic corps to show the country’s economic potential from the leading private sector’s perspective. Initiated by Permanent Secretary Apichart Chinwanno, the Forum is also intended to serve as a platform to explore the possibility of economic and business cooperation between Thailand and foreign countries.
