On 7 August 2016 the Royal Thai Embassy and Wat Thai Dhammaram organized an official ceremony to celebrate the auspicious occasion of HM Queen Sirikit's 84th Birthday Anniversary (or 7th Cycle).  HE Mrs Busaya Mathelin, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium presided over the ceremony, reading out a statement of tribute to honour HM the Queen's lifelong dedication to improving the well-being of rural Thais while preserving and promoting their traditional handicraft skills. This was followed by a religious ceremony where 7 Thai Buddhist monks prayed to offer their blessings for Her Majesty. Alms and food were then offered to the monks in a merit making ritual in honour of HM the Queen.  The ceremony was attended by the heads of Team Thailand offices in Belgium, diplomatic staff, their families, and over 100 Thais residing in Belgium.
