On 1 August 2016 Consul-General Dusit Manapan attended the opening ceremony of the Asian and Oceanian High School Students’ Forum 2016 at the Wakayama Prefectural Cultural Hall. The Forum was declared open by Mr. Yoshinobu Nisaka, the Governor of Wakayama Prefecture. Other distinguished guests were Mr. Shinjiro Komatsu, Deputy Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and H.E. Mr. Youichi Suzuki, Ambassador for Kansai region, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

             Asian and Oceanian High School Students’ Forum 2016, organized by Wakayama Prefectural Government, provided the youth participants with a platform for their exchange of ideas and experience. Youth representatives from 20 countries in Asia and the Oceania were invited by Wakayama Prefecture to participate in the Forum along with Japanese high school students. Mr. Casey Joseph Vongskul of Satit Kaset MP Lab School was selected as Thai youth representative for this year’s Forum which focused on the topics of disaster prevention, environmental issues, tourism and culture, international affairs, and IT and communication.
