On 31 July 2016 Consul-General Dusit Manapan attended the 44th Japan Nationwide Kimono Dressing Contest of Nihon Wasou Gakuen and delivered the opening remarks.
The Consul-General commended Madam Hiroko Matsushima, President of Nihon Wasou Gakuen, on her dedication to the preservation of ancient and beautiful Japanese cultural heritage of kimono as well as organizing activities to strengthen Thailand-Japan friendship.
Moreover, on 30 July 2016, Deputy Consul-General Chanida Kamalanavin attended and delivered her opening remarks at the reception of the 44th Japan Nationwide Kimono Dressing Contest of Nihon Wasou Gakuen.
The event was an opportunity for Thailand-Japan cultural exchange as a group of Thai youths was invited to perform Thai traditional dances during the opening ceremony of the event. The organization of the event received generous support from Mr. Somchai Pahulrat, President of Thai-Japanese Association (Kimono) and Ms. Bhusdee Navavichit, Vice President, Special Projects and Activities, of the Old Japan Students’ association of the Kingdom of Thailand.
