The Delegation visited one of the region's largest and most renowned Hemaraj Industrial Estate and the Laem Chabang Port which is Thailand's biggest port. They also visited a local cattle ranch and feedlot, and Talad Thai, the country's largest wholesale fruit and vegetable market. A trip was made to the Board of Investment's One Start One Stop Investment Center (OSOS) in the heart of Bangkok to witness first hand the ease and the efficiency of the service provided for the investors. The delegation visited Thailand's Science Park to see the research and development into food nutritions and food innovation, and also visited THAIFEX, one of the biggest food trade fair in South East Asia. On the last day, the delegation paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Paul Robilliard, Ambassador of Australia to Thailand and his staff from Austrade and the Department of Agriculture at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok for a wrap up session and extensive discussion regarding investing in Thailand and future cooperation.
Overall, the delegation could experience for themselves first hand the potential and opportunities that Thailand has to offer as an investment destination. They could also witness the whole supply chain from raw agricultural production into food, R&D, marketing and logistics. Venturing into the Thai market/ production base also means venturing into the ASEAN market/production base, capturing an abundance in opportunities for Australian businesses.
