            On 4-5 June 2016, the Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw organized the event “Thai Festival 2016” at Maly Rynek Square in Krakow, the former capital of Poland and UNESCO heritage city, with a view not only to celebrating the 45th year of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Thailand and Poland but also to celebrating the auspicious occasion of the 70th Anniversary Celebrations of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne. H.E. Mr. Jaroslaw Gowin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Higher Education, was honourary patron of this year’s Thai Festival, being a native of Krakow.  
            The opening ceremony was presided over by H.E. Mr. Manasvi Srisodapol, Ambassador of Thailand to Poland, H.E. Mr. Piotr Cwik, Deputy Governor of Malopolska region, and Mr. Rafal Szlachta, President of Polish-Thai Foundation. The Festival included Thai cultural performance and classical music from the Banditpattanasilp Institute, Ministry of Culture of Thailand, traditional Thai puppet show from Sakorn Hunlakornlek, muaythai performance by Muaythai Kingdom club, music performance from the Krakow Music Academy, and over 15 booths exhibiting an Exhibition on HM the King’s activities for the well-being of the people, Thai food tasting, carving and cooking by Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, Thai fruits sponsored by Ministry of Agriculture of Thailand, crafts from Thai artisans, paintings by Thai artists led by Mr. Kamol  Tassananchalee, Thai national artist, Thai SME’s led by President of Thai SME Association along with other booths such as Tourism Authority of Thailand, Thai Office of Commercial Affairs, Thai massage and restaurants and Singha beer.   
             The Thai Festival was popular and attracted more than 7,000 visitors both Polish and foreign visitors to enjoy this unique experience from Thailand.
