Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver Promoted Research Cooperation with University of Calgary

            On 12 May 2016 Ms. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang, Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver, accompanied by Mr. Narat Vidyananda, Consul, met with Professor Janaka Ruwanpura, Vice-Provost (International), Ms. Savera Hayat-Dade, Director of Programs and International Development, Ms. Andrea Morrow, Regional Manager of Asia Pacific, and Mr. Kevin Ellwood, Manager of Articulation Sponsorship Programs, University of Calgary to promote research cooperation between Thailand and Canada. The principle objective of the meeting was exploring the possibility of setting up a joint short term research project for visiting Thai Ph.D. students to work with Canadian experts at University of Calgary. Among the potential fields of research cooperation were energy, climate change, health, bioengineering, aerospace engineering, brain and mental health, food and nutrition, geoscience, and chemistry.
