On 11 May 2016 Ms. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang, Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver, accompanied by Mr. Narat Vidyananda, Consul, met with Dr. Lorne A Babiuk, Vice-President, and Ms. Danielle Scott, Assistant Director of International Relations, University of Alberta to promote research cooperation between Thailand and Canada. The principle objective of the meeting was exploring the possibility of setting up a joint short term research project for visiting Thai Ph.D. students to work with Canadian experts at University of Alberta. Among the potential fields of research cooperation were energy, advanced materials, nanotechnology, health, biomedical engineering, food and nutrition, and climate change.
