Royal Thai Consulate-General in Vancouver, led by Ms. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang, Consul-General, Thailand Board of Investment in New York, led by Director Korbsiri Iamsuri, and the City of Richmond, led by Dr. Chak Au, Councillor, jointly organized a seminar on investment in Thailand at the City of Richmond on 4 March 2016 with Ms. Ajarin Pattanapanchai, Deputy Secretary-General of Thailand Board of Investment as the speaker. The event was also participated by Ms. Nisabudh Virabutre, Director of Thai Trade Center in Vancouver.

            This seminar was sequential to the Consulate-General’s arrangement for Dr. Chak Au and a representative of Canadian businessmen to visit Thailand last year for a preliminarily exploration of business and investment opportunities in Thailand. The topics being discussed during the seminar included geographical advantages of Thailand in ASEAN, roles of Thailand in global supply chain, development of Thai infrastructure and her connectivity plan with neighboring countries and region, competitive advantages and potentials of Thai economy at the international level, business and industrial clusters development plan, related laws, regulation and incentives for trade and investment in Thailand.

            Canadian participants in this seminar were from various business backgrounds such as food and beverage, jewelry and precious stones, international school, land development, as well as industrial estate and economic clusters. With the common view to further promote trade and investment between Thailand and Canada, all participants actively exchanged views and information throughout the seminar.
