         On 28 March 2016, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs had a bilateral meeting with H.E. Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore on the occasion of his official visit to Thailand and to co-officiate the Opening of the 12th Coordinating Meeting of the Thailand - Singapore Civil Service Exchange Programme (CSEP) with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand at the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok.

          Both sides are pleased with the close and comprehensive relations between Thailand and Singapore and the successful celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Singapore in 2015 as well as the constant exchanges of high-level visits. The Minister of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the invitation by H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, the Prime Minister, to the Prime Minister of Singapore and his spouse to pay an official visit to Thailand and to attend the Leaders’ Retreat in 2016.

         The two Foreign Ministers also discussed the issues of cooperation in trade and investment; digital economy; water resource management; and combating international terrorism and extremism as well as the expediting of the implementation of the outcome of the Leaders’ Retreat on 11 – 12 June 2015 in Singapore into concrete outcome.  The Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated Thailand’s support for Singapore’s role as coordinator of ASEAN-China relations.
