On 28-30 March 2016, the Department of ASEAN Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as ASEAN National Secretariat is organizing the 2016 Train the Trainers Programme for Rajabhat University lecturers nationwide, including Higher Education Institutions, with approximately 250 participants from 55 academic institutions, at Grand Mercure Bangkok Fortune Hotel, Bangkok.
Under the theme “Harmony in ASEAN Diversity”, the training programme aims to promote mutual understandings in multicultural societies in the ASEAN community, which is given high priority in Thai Government’s policy. The training programme will be opened by Mr. Vitavas Srivihok, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who delivered a special lecture, as well as lecture by Khunying Laksanachantorn Laohaphan, Chair of the ASEAN Association Thailand, and Mr. Kwang Jo Kim, Director of UNESCO Bangkok.
As the year 2016 marks the first year of the establishment of ASEAN Community, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs cordially invites Higher Education institutions to join hands in academic partnership with Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This programme the seminar will truly benefit the participating lecturers as they will be able to pass on the meaningful and proper knowledge to their students all across Thailand, especially those who will be teachers in the future. In addition, the training is also designated to reduce intolerance and increase better understanding of the ASEAN concept of a caring and sharing society within local public and private sectors.
