On 1st October 2015, H.E. Mr. Thierry Viteau, Ambassador of Republic of France to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Virasakdi Futrakul, Assistant to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, on the occasion of completing his tenure of office in Thailand. In this occasion, Assistant to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand expressed his appreciation for the Ambassador’s hard work and dedication over the past years and congratulated the Ambassador on receiving Royal Insignia from H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
The Ambassador expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’s support to Embassy of France during his tenure and was pleased to take part in promoting relationship between Thailand and France and congratulated the representative of Ministry of Commerce and 20 Thai companies on visiting France in October 2015 under the High Level Economic Dialogue Meeting (HLED).
Moreover, both countries had the opportunity to enter discussion on cooperation on many aspects, such as, the management on tourism, local politics and education; guidance on nuclear energy and the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP21). In addition, COP21 will be hosted by France on 30th November – 11th December 2015, which Prime Minister of Thailand will also attend. Furthermore, H.E. Mr. Viteau also congratulated Thailand for setting a clear objectives toward Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs), which stated on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) website.
H.E. Mr. Viteau has served as Ambassador of France to Thailand since October 2011 till October 2015.
