         On 11 May 2015, Mr. Jorge Eduardo Chen Charpentier, Ambassador of Mexico to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on General Tanasak Patimapragorn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of his end of duty in Thailand and retirement.
         The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his sincere appreciation for the Mexican Ambassador’s cooperation during his term, especially his contribution in the appointment of the Honorary Consul of Mexico in Bangkok to help promote trade and investment between Thailand and Mexico, and in the establishment of the Thai - Mexican Chamber of Commerce, which will be officially inaugurated on 8 June 2015.
The Mexican Ambassador also thanked the Thai side for support and cooperation.
         The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs offered his congratulations on the 40th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Thailand and Mexico this year. He has also extended an invitation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico to visit Thailand. The Ambassador of Mexico will follow up on the invitation for the Mexican Foreign Minister as well as the invitation extended earlier to the President of Mexico to visit Thailand.
         The Ambassador of Mexico informed that Muay Thai is very popular in Mexico. Recently, 2 groups of Mexican Muay Thai boxers came to Thailand to participate in the Muay Thai Tournaments. Mexican media also came to film a documentary on Muay Thai to be broadcasted in Mexico.
