On 9 April 2014, Mr. Thanabordee Joothong, First Secretary of the Royal Thai Embassy was invited by Deakin Preschool to tell story about Songkran Festival or Thai New Year Celebration for 20 preschool kids.  This activity allowed the Australian kids to learn more about Thai culture as well as supported the multi-cultural society that ACT Government tried to promote.  Mr. Joothong also explained about other world renowned character of Thainess such as Thai Foods, Muay Thai and Thai language as well as showed a short video clip on water playing during Songkran Festival.  In addition, he invited teachers to visit the Songkran Festival in Canberra on 12 April 2014 at Dhammadharo Temple.
