On October 18, 2014, Dr. Itti Ditbanjong, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation, hosted dinner for the Thai delegation who had been participating in the Sixth Session of the Conference of the Parties to the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (COP6).
The delegation was led by Dr. Nopporn Chainklin (M.D.), Deputy Director - General of the Department of Disease Control of Thailand, and included Dr. Prakit Vathesatogkit (M.D.), Advisor to the Minister of Public Health of Thailand and Executive Secretary at Action on Smoking and Health Foundation Thailand.
Having been impressed by the advancement of Russian public health and medical science, the delegation shared their views with the Thai Ambassador that it would be useful to promote the Thai - Russian cooperation on medical studies in Russia.
The delegation, in particular, expressed the support on the embassy’s project in cooperation with the Medical Council of Thailand to provide the Thai medical students in Russia (over 50 persons) with the necessary knowledge and recommendations on the obligatory requirements, as well as the rules and regulation to fully comply with the code of conduct regarding medical practice in Thailand.
