The Royal Thai Embassy further strengthens Thailand-Moscow and Bangkok - Moscow cooperation

            On September 5, 2014, H.E. Dr. Itti Ditbanjong, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation met with Mr. Sergey E. Cheremin, Minister, Head of Department for External Economic and International Relations, Government of Moscow, Mr. Boonyarit Vichienpuntu, Counsellor and Mr. Sorawut Norapoompipat, First Secretary.
            The Thai Ambassador expressed thankfulness for the support of the Government of Moscow extended to the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow to organize the special activities to further strengthen the cooperation between the 2 countries and under the framework of the Sisters Cities between Bangkok and Moscow whereby the concerned agreement was concluded since 1997. 
            The activities, in particular, include the visit to Moscow of Dr. Pussadee Tamthai, Deputy Governor of Bangkok upon the invitation of the Government of Moscow from September 12 - 17, 2014 and the first Thai Festival in Moscow 2014 at Kuznetsky Bridge walking street in the heart of Moscow City from September 13 - 14, 2014. These two activities are considered the main theme of Spotlight on Thailand in Russia 2014.
            Mr. Cheremin agreed with the Thai Ambassador to support the Thai Festival as an annual event of Moscow City. He also proposed that the two capital cities consider organizing “Bangkok Day” and “Moscow Day” to broaden the two cities’ scheme of cooperation into the spheres of economic, trade and investment. Furthermore, Mr. Cheremin reitereated that the two capital cities conclude in due course the Joint Plan of Action from 2014 - 2016 for the closer ties and cooperation.
