On 30 September 2014, H.E. Mr. Bansarn Bunnag, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Poland presided over a ceremony to present financial assistance to Royal Lazienki Museum for a total amount of 7,706.01 PLN (approx. 80,000THB). The Museum was represented by Mr. Tadeusz Zielniewicz, the Director of Royal Lazienki Museum and Mrs. Barbara Maria Werner, head of the Palace’s garden.
The Royal Lazienki Palace, or Palace on the Water, is of utmost significance in the history of Thailand – Poland relations because the palace was provided to H.M. King Rama V as a royal accommodation during His Majesty’s Royal Visit to Warsaw in 1897. At that time, H.M. the King’s Visit was a great spectacle for the local people in Warsaw which was counted as both royal and head of state visit.
The presentation of financial assistance aims to commemorate the Royal Visit of H.M. King Rama V to the Palace and illustrates that the Thai Government put utmost emphasis on the close bilateral ties between Thailand and Poland, which will eventually strengthen the cordial relations that exist between the two countries.
