            On September 13, 2014, Dr. Itti Ditbanjong, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation, together with Dr. Pussadee Tamthai, Deputy Governor of Bangkok and Mr. Sergey E. Cheremin, Minister, Head of Department for External Economic and International Relations of the Government of Moscow jointly presided over at the Opening Ceremony of Thai Festival in Moscow at Kuznetsky Bridge Walking Street in the heart of Moscow. 
            This event organized from September 13 - 14, 2014 is considered a main activity within the framework of Spotlight on Thailand in Russia 2014 organized during the entire period of September 2014.
            The event aimed to promote Thailand’s art and cultural uniqueness, as well as to further strengthen the country’s confidence among Russian public and the Thai - Russian cooperation of all spheres. Thailand’s popularity was reflected through the cooperation between the Royal Thai Embassy and the Government of Moscow whereby the Russian policy makers rendered permission for this special event to be held at the important public place in the heart of Moscow City. 
             Considering the Russian government’s current policy towards the closer ties with her Asian trading partners, this Thailand Festival took place at the right timing as the showcase for boosting the popularity of Thai agricultural and food products among consumers, particularly the Moscow residents of medium and high incomes. Russian public was also impressed by the gigantic floral masterpiece using more than 200,000 Thai orchid flowers at the Floral Festival that was organized at the same place by Tourism Authority of Thailand from September 13 - 21, 2014. This floral exhibition would also benefit for the export of Thai orchids in Russia.
