On 29 September 2014, His Excellency Mr. SompongSanguanbun, Ambassador of Thailand to Bosnia and Herzegovina with residence in Budapest, presented 30,000 US dollars as contribution from Royal Thai Government to His Excellency Dr. ZlatkoLagumdzija, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina to support the rehabilitation in areas devastated by the flood in May 2014. The flood was the most catastrophic natural disaster in several decades, affecting one million people and destroying vast areas of agricultural land.  

 

            On this occasion, His Excellency Ambassador Sanguanbun, who will retire at the end of September, also bid farewell to the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina who thanked the Ambassador for his role in promoting the relations between the two countries.

 

            The Ambassador reiterated Thailand’s intention to participate in the Sarajevo Halal Fair and Forum which was postponed to spring of next year. Furthermore, the Royal Thai Embassy is also interested to hold an event to promote Thailand in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
