During 30 August -5 September 2014, the Royal Thai Embassy in Santiago, in collaboration with local partners, organized Muay Thai Clinic in Santiago at University of Santiago of Chile, Santo Tomas University and Chilean Olympic Training Center. Mr. Chan Ditkrajan and Mr. Chanchai Arjirawat from ThaiAchira Group are the Thai boxing trainers who joined the Embassy to promote the arts of Muay Thai – Muay Chaiya in Chile during the week.
Later, on 6 September 2014, H.E. Mr. Surapon Petch-vra, Thai Ambassador to Chile, presided over the 2nd Muay Thai Championship Open: Ambassador's Trophy organized by the Royal Thai embassy at the Olympic Training Center in Santiago in which attended 1,000 people approximately. Sixteen Muay Thai fighters (8 matches, 8 categories, female included) from various Muay Thai camps in Chile participated in this year’s Championship Open.
In the opening ceremony, Mr. Jaime Agliati, Secretary-General of the Chilean Olympic Committee and Mr. Pedro Sabat, Mayor of Ñuñoa, joined the Ambassador to give welcoming remarks.
During the event, Thai entrepreneurs in Chile were invited to offer their products and services to the participants. In addition, the Embassy organized special performances to entertain the public during the intermission ranging from a fashion show by a group of Chilean models, singing performance by Ms. Pachara Poonsawat and Muay Thai demonstration by the trainers from ThaiAchira Group. Moreover, in the activity area, there was a mobile exhibition displayed to promote Thai tourism and culture.
