On 3 June 2014, H.E. Mr. Tomwit Jarnson, Ambassador of Thailand to Pakistan, received Associate Professor Dr. Winai Dahlan, Founding Director of the Halal Science Center, Chulalongkorn University and senior delegates from Central Islamic Council of Thailand who were invited by Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Standards and Metrology Institute for the Islamic Countries (SMIIC) to participate in and be a speaker at “World Halal Assembly” during 3-4 June 2014 in Islamabad. On this occasion, they discussed the possibility to promote Thai Halal food exports to Pakistan which was considered an emerging market. Ambassador also mentioned a number of projects of the Embassy to promote Thai Halal food in Pakistan. In September 2014, the Embassy has planned a project on promotion of Thai Halal Food exports to Pakistan in Lahore, Pakistan. Dr. Winai and the Council affirmed their readiness to render any assistance in the said project.
