          On 30 May 2014, H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup, Ambassador of Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Hoang Tuan Anh, Minister of Culture, Sports and Toursim, to introduce himself as the newly appointed Ambassador of Thailand to Vietnam. On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Hoang Tuan Anh congratulated H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup on his appointment and expressed satisfaction on the flourishing bilateral relations between Thailand and Vietnam, especially the cooperation in the areas of culture, sports and tourism. Moreover, he thanked the Thai side for its continued support in bringing various groups of cultural troupe from Thailand to participate in important cultural activities of the country such as Hue Festival. He also expressed appreciation towards Thailand’s tourism management expertise and wished Vietnam could learn it more from Thailand.

          H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup, in turn, said that the connectivity between the peoples including culture, tourism and sports would lay a significant groundwork for further development of the relations between Thailand and Vietnam. Moreover, he used this opportunity to clarify the curfew order in Thailand that would not affect Vietnamese favourite tourist destinations. He, thus, asked the Ministry to provide the correct information for Vietnamese tourists.  Moreover, he provided information about the cultural activities which would be carried out in Vietnam by the Thai side in the coming months such as the 1st Thai Film Festival and “Thai Fight” , Muay Thai competitions, and the celebration of 40 years anniversary of diplomatic ties between Thailand and Vietnam.
