     On 30 July – 3 August 2013, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, paid an Official Visit to the State of Western Australia (WA), upon the invitation of the Government of WA. Mr. Maris was accompanied with Mr. Krit Tankanarat, Minister Counsellor, M.L. Bhuthong Thongyai, Director, Thai Trade Centre in Sydney, Mr. Wirat Tatsaringkansakul, Director, Thailand Board of Investment Office in Sydney and Ms. Tachaphorn Suntrajarn, First Secretary. During the visit, Mr. Maris paid courtesy calls upon significant dignitaries in WA including The Honourable Colin Barnett, Premier of WA, His Excellency Malcolm McCusker, Governor of WA and The Honourable Wayne Martin, Chief of Justice.  Mr. Maris proposed to strengthen ties at all levels, particularly among private sectors and people-to-people, which will lead to sustained bilateral relations between Thailand and Australia. Mr. Maris also had meetings with the officers of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia and the Department of State Development to discuss ways to enhance economic cooperation, particularly, in agriculture sectors and cattle livestock. Mr. Maris and his delegation also met and mingle with Thai communities in WA during the dinner hosted by the Royal Thai Embassy.
