     During 27 July- 5 August 2013, 5 high school student representatives from Thailand have participated in the Seventh International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics: 7th IOAA, Volos, Greece, with the support of the Promotion of Academic Olympiad and Development of the Science Education Foundation under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Galayani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra. The delegation led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Orrarujee Muanwong from Khon Khaen University and Asst. Prof. Dr. Phichet Kittara from Mahidol University together with Mr. Sathitpon Suwannasopon from Samakkhi Witthayakhom in Chiangrai and Mr. Thanawat Thana from Suankularb Wittayalai as observers.

     Ambassador of Thailand to Greece has attended the prize-giving and closing ceremony and congratulated all 5 students who have been awarded medals.

     Mr. Suphawit Duangphumek from Mahidol Wittayanusorn and Mr. Kanaruj Chanthongdee from Suankularb Wittayalai won gold medals (Mr. Duangphumek won third place among gold medalists). Mr Natthawat Phothisuwan from Suankularb Wittayalai and Mr. Chaiyasit Lertkultanon from Triam Udomsuksa won silver medals and Mr. Jedsada Maklai from Samakkhi Wittayakhom, Chiangrai won bronze medal.

     The participation of Thai students in this Olympiad will provide them the opportunity to meet fellow students with the same interests from all over the world. The study together and the exchange of view will help develop and expand furthermore the knowledge of Thai students in field of Astronomy and Astrophysics.
