On 22 November 2023, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, met with a business delegation from the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), led by Ambassador Brian McFeeters (ret.), USABC Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director, to discuss Thailand-U.S. trade and investment cooperation promotion. Attending were senior representatives from 32 U.S. companies.

On this occasion, the Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs emphasized the Government's commitment to proactive economic diplomacy to shift the economy to a high gear, emphasizing sustainability, digital economy, and bolstering regional connectivity, which will help create an environment that is more conducive for businesses and foreign investment. The Vice Minister also highlighted an important role that the U.S. private sector can play to further strengthen the Thai-U.S. relations for the mutual benefits of the two countries.

In this regard, the USABC expressed confidence in Thailand's potentials and importance to the U.S. private sector. They affirmed readiness to collaborate with the government on investment and capacity building cooperation across various sectors, such as agriculture and food, transportation, digital economy, energy, and tourism. Also discussed were useful suggestions on promoting foreign investment in Thailand.
