Director-General of European Affairs Department delivers remarks at special Trombone residence concert in celebration of 420th Anniversary of Thai - Dutch Relations

​On 6 August 2024, Ms. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, attended the special Trombone residence concert at the Netherlands Residence in celebration of the 420th anniversary of Thai – Dutch diplomatic relations this year, which was co-hosted by the Department of European Affairs and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

​On this occasion, the Director-General of the Department of European Affairs joined H.E. Mr. Remco van Wijngaarden, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Thailand, in delivering a speech. The Director-General expressed appreciation for the longest formal diplomatic friendship Thailand has ever had with any country in the world, dating back when the Dutch VOC-merchants arrived in Ayutthaya for the first time in 1604. She also highlighted the close and dynamic relations between the two kingdoms, as well as Thailand’s commitment to strengthening trade and investment cooperation with the Netherlands, including the exchange of technological knowledge in water management, food technology, innovation, and science, especially in the ASEAN and the European Union frameworks.

​This special concert demonstrated the unique musical collaboration between Dutch, American, and Thai trombonists. It was the premier performance of the Thailand International Trombone Festival 2024 to be held during 8 - 11 August 2024 at Mahidol University College of Music.
