On 7 August 2024, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, discussed with Dr. Phiset Sa-ardyen, Director of Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ), on ways to advance the Bangkok Rules (the United Nations Rules for the Treatment of Women Prisoners and Non-Custodial Measures for Women Offenders) at the international level to honour and implement the royal wish of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati.

In addition, both sides also exchanged views on establishing projects and mechanisms, as well as pursuing partnerships with like-minded countries at the bilateral and multilateral levels to support the implementation of the Bangkok Rules.
