On 11 April 2025, Mr. Narut Soontarodom, Consul General of Thailand in Siem Reap, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Mean Chanyada, Governor of Oddar Meanchey Province, on the occasion of assuming his duties. Both sides discussed the close ties between Oddar Meanchey and Thailand’s border provinces—namely Surin, Buriram, and Sisaket—which have maintained regular consultations and coordination. These efforts have helped facilitate the smooth resolution of any border-related issues that may arise.

Consul General reiterated his support for strengthening cooperation between border provinces to promote trade, economic activities, and people-to-people exchanges. He also emphasized the mission of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in providing consular services and safeguarding the well-being of Thai nationals in Oddar Meanchey and its consular district. The Governor expressed his full support and readiness to cooperate with the Consulate-General, including in the suppression of online crimes, in line with the policies and priorities of the Government of Cambodia.
