On 18 November 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivered welcoming remarks at the SDSN Thailand Public Forum 2025. The Forum was co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC), the Thailand Science Research and Innovation, and the Centre for SDG Research and Support (SDG Move) of Thammasat University, under the theme “10th Year of the SDGs: Reflections, Realignments, and the Way Forward” from 18 to 19 November 2025. More than 200 participants from the government, academia, civil society, and the private sector attended the Forum.
The Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of political will and partnerships in driving forward sustainable development. He also shared that the Ministry, as coordinator for SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), conducted an inclusive preparatory process for Thailand’s 2025 Voluntary National Review (VNR) reflecting the views from various stakeholders. He further elaborated on the Ministry’s role in advancing South - South and Triangular Cooperation to share Thailand’s best practices on development. The Foreign Minister expressed hope that the Forum would be a platform to foster partnerships between stakeholders, particularly the academia, which can bring about transformative changes toward sustainable development in Thailand.
The SDSN Thailand Public Forum 2025 builds upon the partnership between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and stakeholders during the 2025 VNR preparatory process, particularly with SDG Move and SDSN Thailand, whose roles are to capitalize on the academic knowledge to support SDGs implementation in Thailand.
